Sleep Difficulties
Do you sleep but still feel tired? Don’t get at least 8 hours of sleep? Sleeping doesn’t always mean resting. We’ll explain it to you!
The bigger picture
How we think about it
Sleeping doesn’t always mean resting. Deep sleep is closely related to how the nervous system regulates itself and recovers. To heal, the nervous system needs to be able to lower its alert level and promote a state more related to the parasympathetic system: rest, digestion, and recovery.
When we live under constant stress, with tension or discomfort in the body, it can be harder for the nervous system to shift from a state of alertness to one of rest.
Chiropractic care can be part of this process by working on spinal mobility, reducing musculoskeletal tension, and providing sensory stimuli that can influence nervous system function.
Because to sleep better, your body doesn’t just need to close its eyes… it needs to feel capable of resting and recovering.
Maybe:
You have trouble falling asleep.
You wake up several times during the night.
You wake up tired even after sleeping for several hours.
You feel like your mind stays active when you go to bed.
You rely on coffee to start the day.
During the day you feel a lack of energy, focus, or mental clarity.
